When urgent cleaning is the appropriate response
A stopped hydraulic-hose leak with oil contained around one press may be ready for urgent cleaning once engineering releases the bay. Oil still flowing towards a drain is not. Emergency controls come before cleaning
The site remains responsible for emergency control and for making the area safe. Unknown material must be identified before an ordinary cleaning method is discussed.
A working date is considered only after access, isolation and the defined cleaning boundary are known.

What the immediate clean will not fix
Removing accessible contamination does not fix leaking plant or failed containment. Record what was removed and arrange engineering, environmental or waste support where needed. Availability is confirmed only after the real work and site conditions have been reviewed.
Urgent cleaning is not an emergency response. An active spill, leak, fire risk or exposure concern must follow the site’s emergency procedure and appropriate specialist response before cleaning is arranged.
For a contained oil leak, identify the failed hose or seal, the surfaces reached by oil and the point where it has been contained. Add a photograph only from outside any restricted area.
A late outage task with an identified deposit and controlled area may be urgent without being an emergency.
