Is the floor dirty, worn or chemically damaged?
The survey connects the floor finish with the source of oil, liquid, tyre marks or other contamination. It also follows vehicle and pedestrian movement so the trial area reflects the route where the problem occurs.
Wash-water recovery and nearby machinery matter before a method is tested. On a restricted site, the treatment may need to stay dry or use a contained collection point.
What a trial area can establish
A floor survey distinguishes removable grime from worn coating, staining and physical damage. That distinction matters because cleaning can improve grip and expose the original finish, but it cannot restore a surface that has failed.
A controlled trial on the real surface records the product, equipment, dwell time and recovery used. It shows what lifts, what is permanent staining and whether the proposed finish is realistic.
If the trial is suitable, the larger bay can be divided into closures with enough time for treatment, recovery, drying and the site’s check before traffic returns.

Cleaning can expose cracked coating, loose joints and worn anti-slip texture. It cannot restore those surfaces. The contractor records visible defects so the site can arrange repair and decide what temporary traffic control is needed.
For recurring work, compare the deposit and drying time by zone. This helps facilities teams schedule future cleaning around the areas that actually collect contamination.
